Terms of Service

1.1 Age and Status Requirements

Pare is designed for adults 40 and older. You must be at least 18 years old to create an account. To fully participate as a member, you must generally be 40 or older. We may make limited exceptions (for example, for people in their late 30s in specific programs) at our discretion.

By using the Platform, you represent and warrant that you:

• Are at least 18 years old;
• Are legally able to enter into these Terms; and
• Are single, separated, divorced, widowed, or otherwise genuinely available to date (unless you are clearly using Pare in a way consistent with our community guidelines and with informed consent of all parties).

1.2 Account Responsibility

You are responsible for:

• Maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials;
• All activity that occurs under your account; and
• Ensuring your information is accurate, complete, and up to date.

You agree to notify us immediately at support@paredating.com if you suspect unauthorized use of your account.

1.3 One Real Person, One Profile

You agree to:

• Maintain only one personal dating account on Pare (unless we explicitly approve otherwise);
• Use your real name and accurate personal details; and
• Not create an account on behalf of someone else without our explicit written permission (for example, in certain "pare a parent" or concierge programs).

We may refuse, suspend, or close accounts that violate these Terms or that we believe may pose risk to the community.

2.1 Identity Verification

To help protect our community, Pare may require identity verification. Verification may include government- issued ID, selfies or biometric checks, and cross-checks against public records and online presence, as described in our Privacy Policy.

By using Pare, you authorize us and our verification providers to collect and process this data and to use verification results when determining your eligibility to use the Platform.

2.2 Criminal Record & Eligibility Checks

With your explicit consent and where permitted by law, we may conduct criminal record and eligibility checks via accredited third-party providers. These checks may include searches of public court records, watchlists, and criminal databases.

Adverse information may affect your ability to use or remain on the Platform. You may have rights to access certain reports directly from the provider or under applicable law.

2.3 Safety & Verification Intelligence

As explained in our Privacy Policy, Pare may use phone number intelligence, name and location cross- references, reverse image search, breach database analysis, internal confidence scores, and red-flag detection to help identify fraud, impersonation, and safety risks.

These tools inform, but do not fully replace, human review. We are not obligated to admit or retain any individual as a member.

2.4 No Guarantee of Safety

While Pare is designed as a higher-trust environment, we cannot guarantee the identity, intentions, or behavior of any member, or that in-person meetings will be risk-free. You remain solely responsible for your own safety online and offline and should follow common-sense precautions and our safety guidance.

3.1 Community Expectations

Pare is for genuine, respectful adults. You agree to be honest in your profile and communications, treat members and staff with respect, communicate clearly about your intentions and availability, and honor agreed- upon dates or cancel/reschedule with consideration.

3.2 Prohibited Conduct

You must not:

• Harass, threaten, abuse, or stalk any person;
• Engage in hate speech, bullying, or discriminatory behavior;
• Scam, defraud, or financially exploit any member (including requesting money or loans);
• Impersonate another person or misrepresent your identity, status, or intentions;
• Share or solicit illegal, non-consensual, or exploitative content;
• Use Pare for commercial, promotional, or research purposes without our written permission;
• Scrape, harvest, or misuse data about other members; or
• Interfere with or attempt to circumvent Platform security or integrity.

3.3 Reporting & Enforcement

Members can report abusive or suspicious behavior. Pare may, at its discretion and without prior notice, review, restrict, or remove content or accounts; issue warnings; temporarily suspend or permanently ban users; and, where appropriate, refer matters to law enforcement.

4.1 No Guarantee of Matches or Outcomes

Pare does not guarantee that you will receive a certain number of matches, messages, or dates, or that you will find a compatible partner or relationship.

4.2 Date Concierge & Recommendations

Pare may offer date concierge or matchmaking support (for example, suggesting venues, times, or date concepts). These are recommendations only. You remain responsible for deciding whether to attend, for your behavior, and for any costs or risks associated with suggested activities.

4.3 Offline Responsibility

We do not supervise in-person meetings. You are solely responsible for your interactions and decisions. Except where required by law, Pare is not liable for disputes, injuries, losses, or incidents that occur between members or at suggested venues.

5.1 Your Content

You retain ownership of the content you create and upload ("User Content"). By posting or uploading User Content, you grant Pare a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free, sublicensable license to host, use, reproduce, modify (for formatting), display, and distribute your User Content within the Platform and related communications, as well as to use anonymized or aggregated versions to improve the Platform.

5.2 Content Standards

Your User Content must not:

• Infringe any third-party rights (for example, copyright, privacy, or publicity);
• Contain illegal, defamatory, hateful, or exploitative material;
• Include images or information about others without their consent, especially minors.

5.3 Pare Intellectual Property

All rights in and to the Platform (excluding User Content) are owned by Pare and its licensors, including software, design, text, graphics, logos, trademarks, algorithms, and models. You may not copy, modify, distribute, sell, lease, or reverse engineer any part of the Platform, except where permitted by law.

This section applies if and when Pare charges fees or offers paid features. Fees, billing intervals, and included features will be displayed at the time of purchase. Payments are processed by third-party payment providers under their own terms, and taxes may be added where required by law.

Unless stated otherwise, subscriptions automatically renew at the end of each billing period. You can cancel renewal through your account settings or app store subscription settings. Cancellation prevents future billing but does not automatically issue refunds for completed periods, except where required by law.

The Platform may contain links to or integrations with third-party websites, apps, or services (for example, maps, venues, or external booking systems). Pare does not control and is not responsible for third- party content, products, or policies. Use of third-party services is at your own risk and subject to their terms and privacy policies.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, the Platform is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis, without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied. Pare disclaims all warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, and any warranties arising from course of dealing or usage of trade.

We do not warrant that the Platform will be uninterrupted, secure, or error-free; that defects will be corrected; that profiles or content will be accurate or complete; or that any particular outcome (including matches, dates, or relationships) will occur.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Pare and its officers, directors, employees, contractors, and agents will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any loss of profits, data, reputation, or goodwill arising out of or related to your use of the Platform or interactions with other members.

In any case, Pare's total aggregate liability arising out of or related to the Platform or these Terms will be limited to the greater of (a) the amount you paid to Pare (if any) in the 12 months preceding the event giving rise to the claim, or (b) $100 USD (or local currency equivalent).

Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations or exclusions of liability, so some of the above may not apply to you.

You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless Pare and its officers, directors, employees, and agents from and against any claims, liabilities, damages, losses, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of or in any way connected with: (a) your access to or use of the Platform; (b) your User Content; (c) your violation of these Terms; or (d) your interactions with other members.

11.1 Your Right to Close Your Account

You can close your account at any time through the Platform or by contacting support. Closing your account does not automatically cancel existing obligations (for example, outstanding fees) or prevent Pare from retaining certain information as required or permitted by law.

11.2 Our Right to Suspend or Terminate

We may, at our discretion and without prior notice, suspend, limit, or terminate your access to the Platform; remove or restrict access to User Content; and/or take other actions we consider appropriate if we believe you have violated these Terms, engaged in unsafe or fraudulent behavior, or created risk or legal exposure for Pare or others.

These Terms, and any disputes arising out of or relating to them or your use of the Platform, will be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of [Province/State],[Country], without regard to conflict of law principles.

You agree that any legal action or proceeding between you and Pare will be brought exclusively in the courts located in [City, Province/State, Country], and you consent to the personal jurisdiction of such courts, unless another forum is required by law.

Nothing in this section limits any non-waivable rights you may have under applicable consumer protection laws.

We may update these Terms from time to time. When we do, we will change the "Last Updated" date at the top of this page and, where required by law, provide additional notice (for example, by email or in-app notification).

If you continue to use the Platform after the updated Terms become effective, you agree to be bound by the new version. If you do not agree, you must stop using Pare and close your account.
